I have now cultivated two plus decades of shopping experience, starting at a young age. When my parents and I would travel, they would plan most things, but they would let me choose how we’d spend some of our time together. My Pa would always choose fishing or spending time outdoors, while my mom would find fabulous restaurants and local art shops. I always researched the best local shops, focusing on clothes and shoes.
As I got older I started fishing less and shopping more. Pa would go off on guided fishing tours while Mom and I would shop and explore the cities I had spent hours researching. As time went by, I honed my shopping techniques down to a science. The first time I visited Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, it was a challenge to visit all of the shops and restaurants on my list! I knew I’d have to come back soon. Growing up three hours away in McPherson, Kansas, I never dreamed that I would be working for Hotel Sorella Country Club Plaza and using what I consider, expert level retail skills in the professional world! As a sales and marketing coordinator at the beautiful boutique hotel; Hotel Sorella Country Club Plaza, I enjoy helping guests make their plans and memories as they come through Kansas City. It is such a rewarding experience.
In Kansas City, Hotel Sorella is located steps away from Country Club Plaza – hence the name! Country Club Plaza opened in 1923 by J.C. Nichols, whose founding idea was a drive up shopping location (which is why all parking on the plaza is free to this day). It was designed architecturally after Seville, Spain, which can be seen in the beautiful tile scattered throughout the Plaza streets , amazing fountains, and upscale shops, restaurants and bars.
